Potter Street, Black Rock

We combined overflowing foliage and formal hedging in this gorgeous bayside home to create a stunning semi-formal garden.

When we took on this job it was essentially a large blank canvas, where we were given free reign to create a garden that looked beautiful from all aspects and had practical areas that could be enjoyed by the owners all year round.

We used a large variety of perennials in the rambling garden beds and balanced these out with hedging to give the garden some structure. Contrasting formal and informal plantings at varying heights softens the angles of the rectangular garden beds and layers of gardenias around the edge of the beds create depth. The owners love how the garden has created the most beautiful view for them from all angles of the house.
